FORALLVENT

Research cooperation

The prevalence of asthma and allergies across Europe is very high, causing social problems and significant medical costs. Therefore, an improvement in medical treatment in this area is necessary. This improvement can come in personalised medicine, based on genetic predisposition, and in preventive medicine, based on drug treatments. This improvement, however, can only be achieved by innovative, interactive research strategies. Public research laboratories and higher education institutions must interact with enterprise-based research and other private bodies. European research efforts should focus on the new prospects offered
by multi-disciplinary research. However, excellence in scientific research is not enough: it is essential to have the capacity to translate knowledge into new products, processes and services. These will, in turn, generate benefits for society.

Cooperation between research bodies, scientists and product developers is crucial for the development of new ideas and innovative approaches. Thus, FORALLVENT aims to collaborate with food manufacturers and with product development staff in SMEs or large companies.
